Recently the Ministry of Education published the notice that foreign students can register in undergraduate studies with the “Hanyu Shuiping Kaoshi (HSK) Report” apart from the original “HSK Level Certificate”.

In order to meet the needs of Chinese language teaching development, China National Office for Teaching Chinese/Confucius Institute Headquarters enabled the new HANYU SHUIPING Test Paper (hereinafter referred to as the New HSK, and the current used one referred to as HSK). According to the statistical analysis of the New HSK pre-test and the first test, the passing grade at 180 of the New HSK fourth, fifth, sixth corresponded to the Elementary, Middle and Higher level of the HSK Certificate C. The New HSK and HSK will be collateral used for some time.

In addition, consulting to the Chinese language requirements of Chinese government scholarship to the premedical students, higher education institutions can decide the HANYU SHUIPING requirements to self-financed foreign students, also their foreign students attending the New HSK or HSK.
