The board functions as a board of directors. Their interest is in the governance and operations of the association. The board takes on the statutory responsibilities pertaining to the association and involve themselves with such processes as:

* Monitoring and documenting professional standards in accordance with the ever-changing teaching requirements
* Developing and implementing a media strategy
* Strengthening relationships with members
* Developing close contacts with international organizations for TCSOLs recognition
